Oregon has one of the grandest coast lines stretching for miles. Rode through our first tunnel a little scary mostly because the road was in desperate need of repair. We pushed a button that had the bicycles in tunnel flashing warning lights and it was an uphill. Spent a day in Tillamook and ate our way through the factory. Today we rode to Oceanside and watched whales. The sun shone all day we had pooled our food supplies with leftover pizza, pbj, candy and nuts we
had a picnic lunch on Whalen Island. Then up, up, up and down hill to Lincoln. My downhill speed was 41.3 today. Once we get our panniers back on that will decrease. Bill, who is Bob's friend, has been shuttling them for us.
What I've learned over the past couple of days. My thumbs will be the strongest muscle on my body, those hand shifters on flat handlebars are made for big thumbs with lots of torque.
